By sharing my own experience of the effects of anesthesia, I hope you will be better prepared than I was when you go through surgery.
Before any surgery, be aware of the risks and share your concerns with your doctor. For me, the effects of anesthesia after “simple” surgery were crippling.
A few years ago, while working in the home healthcare field, I had twisted my knee while transferring a patient. Surgery was recommended. It was to be a simple procedure as I was in the operating room for just twenty minutes.
Surgery is not simple!
The next morning when I woke up, I could hardly move, the pain was excruciating just trying to get off of the bed. I did have use of a walker, but it hurt trying to move it.
I then developed flu-like symptoms with a sore throat and fever. The sore throat progressed into bronchitis, then laryngitis, and I could not speak for days. I had profuse sweating from the fever.
Two kittens spurred me on!
I realized that my immune system had taken a hit from the anesthesia and I was going to have to work my way back to health again. My motivation for getting up from the couch? Two kittens that my family had rescued that needed my help. It took every ounce of energy working through the pain, but I am grateful they were there to keep me moving.
Not being litter-trained, and using the back of the clothes washer as their litter-box, was a huge challenge for me to clean up after them.
I am also thankful that I have the wild blue-green algae; I trust in it’s superior quality and wholeness and it’s detoxifying ability. I know that it was instrumental in me bouncing back from the effects of anesthesia.
Dr. Charles W. Lapp, MD has written a report on recommendations “For Persons With CFS Or Fibromyalgia Who Are Anticipating Surgery”. It may be something you could take with you to the visit with your doctor prior to surgery.
I would love to hear from you!

Today, besides being an active grandmother, I am a volunteer with community organizations, one being the Relay For Life, and I love spreading the word of the wild-crafted blue-green algae!
